The Equihandee Harness
Our original product, was created for my own daughter as I struggled to hold her safely whilst she learnt to ride. For me, holding a leg or clothes just wasn’t safe enough, so I created a product that effectively popped a handle on my child’s back.
This is turn has so many benefits, your child thinks they are riding solo when you actually have hold of them, it doesn’t interfere with the child’s personal space and they are able to grow confidence, core strength, find their balance and have the best time ever.
For the parents this means peace of mind and also your body isn’t going in 2 different directions, you are able to hold your child with your whole body facing forward, this also means you can hold your child and lead the pony at the same time without a second helper, it’s a win win situation.
Our second product was created for children with sensory needs. The Equihandee Freedom has a specially designed cushioned jacket which sits comfortably against the body providing cushioning to alleviate the pressures experienced with sensory needs. The cushioned jacket makes the rider feel enveloped which has had a calming effect on the riders that wear it.
Our recently launched ground breaking third product, the Equihandee Core Support has been created for children with disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy. The carefully designed jacket offers support to the rider with no core strength or balance. This product is a game changer for these riders. The strategically placed handles on the back enable the parent/instructor to safely stabilise the rider whilst they are in the saddle.
This epic product was trialled by the amazing Harry, a 4 year old boy who is quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Due to Harry’s height and size, his mum Hayley, was no longer able to hold Harry in the saddle, this was devastating to the family as Harry benefitted from riding as it alleviates the pain from his hip migration, tight muscle’s and painful muscles spasms that Harry experiences regularly.
Harry is now the proud owner of an Equihandee Core Support and he loves it, it means he can enjoy time in the saddle on his favourite pony and it helps with his disability
We have also added Rainbow Sensory Reins and Neck Ropes to our website for riders with sensory needs, these amazing products can be made with your favourite colours to stimulate the senses whilst in the saddle. We also have 2 more lines soon to be on our website so please look out for those.
