The idea of manufacturing the EcoJods came to me while looking for the jodhpurs I wanted to buy, but couldn’t find.
I ruled out organic cotton after discovering that even that can be damaging, and decided to go for a recycled material instead, using waste from the fishing, carpet and textile industries.
The next 18 months was spent finding an ethical company to make an all season super-stretchy material, thick enough to be warm in winter, and suitable for the summer too. The fabric I chose also has a fluffy-feel to the inside, making them even more cosy!
Covid was a set back, but it was due to the delays I was experiencing abroad that I found the perfect ethical manufacturer to make the EcoJods here in the UK – where the machinists have a decent wage and working conditions.
Since the launch of the EcoJods in October, I’ve been overwhelmed by messages of support and kind feedback:

The EcoJods come in five colours – black, blue and grey, plus black/blue and black/grey contrast. They come with a ‘sticky bum’ and without – and with deep and easily accessible phone pockets.
In terms of packaging, and every other aspect of my business, I was determined to be as sustainable as possible.
It doesn’t just start and end with the EcoJods. I also have big plans for the future, with more eco clothing and horsewear products in the pipeline.
