Below is an example of her posts that she has kindly allowed to be shared.
I’m looking at the nail holes from a shod foot. I know the poor farrier had a hard time in this shoeing because the horse was very sore due to a hind limb injury- so please no farrier bashing.
The slice was taken horizontal, like a stack of pennies, about 1.5 cm from the ground. In the last photo, the red that you see is the sole corium starting to come in as my slice was taken at just that level.
I have a video on the nail hole study in this foot, where I look in great debth at this. I’ll be posting the video on Facebook on 1st June (NZ time). I hope FB will get it into your newsfeed as many of my followers are telling me that they are not seeing all my posts. I have no idea why?
I wonder how good glue on shoes are? Also composite flexible shoes? Does anyone have experience with these they would like to share with us? I’m quite interested in options other than steel, and would love to look into alternatives. Or is it just too convenient, cheap and easy to forge on site?
I also hear many times, that the most important thing is the trim, at short intervals, not the shoe. The trim is what is going to set the foot up to succeed. Anyone like to comment on that?
A shout out to my sponsor for May, Doc Foals who invented and manufactures the “black Pad” to protect the foot ❤️
